What year did you graduate from Virginia Tech?

I will be graduating in May of 2010.

Grant Duncan

Family: Dennis and Susan (parents), and Leslie (sister)

Why did you decide to join the Hokie Club while still an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech?

I was looking for another way to show my support for Virginia Tech athletics, and also, I felt it was important to get a head start and begin giving back to my school, even if it was in small amounts.

A Hokie is …

anyone who is a strong and proud supporter of Virginia Tech.

How did you get involved with the Hokie Club?

My parents have been longtime members and have always had me around Hokie Club events, as well as Tech athletics events.

What caused you to become a fan of Virginia Tech?

Growing up in Blacksburg and going to Tech games for as long as I can remember, it was just natural.

Do you have any game day superstitions? If so, what are they?

I normally try and wear the same thing for each game, and then also try and keep the same pregame routine throughout the season, from when I wake up to when I enter the stadium.

What is your best memory of Virginia Tech athletics?

Jim Druckenmiller’s pass to Jermaine Holmes to beat UVa in ’95 and then going on to beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl.

What motivates you to give back to help Virginia Tech athletics?

I’m just very passionate about Tech athletics and want to see us do well across the board. Giving back provides me with the feeling that I am making a difference in helping our student-athletes to succeed.

My all-time favorite Virginia Tech athletes are …

Football: Keion Carpenter, Basketball: Zabian Dowdell

Hokie Club’s annual “Breakfast with Seth”

On the morning of Friday, March 12, approximately 200 Hokie Club members showed up for the Hokie Club’s annual “Breakfast with Seth” to show support for the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team at the 57th annual ACC Tournament. Along with the Virginia Tech cheerleaders, the Marching Virginians and the Hokie Bird, all in attendance enjoyed a complementary deluxe breakfast and helped get Coach Greenberg and the team fired up for the tournament.
