Tournament Triumph
Led by tournament MVP Cara Baarendse (10), the Virginia Tech volleyball team opened the season by downing Indiana 3-1 in the finale of the Hokie Tournament and claiming the tournament title.

A:when you tell people you are a Hokie they know that you are a Virginia Tech fan.
Q: What is your best memory of Virginia Tech athletics?
A: The first gameday in Blacksburg, VT 62, Syracuse 0, 10/16/1999.
Q: How did you get involved with the Hokie Club?
A: My father, Jack McKenney, started me in the Hokie Club as a child and then after I graduated, my godfather, RT Avery, introduced me to the Richmond Hokie Club in 2003 and I have been a Hokie Representative ever since.
Q: What caused you to become a fan of Virginia Tech?
A: I was born a Hokie. My grandfather, father, and several other family members attended Virginia Tech, and I have been going to Tech games since I was in the womb.
Q: Describe your perfect day at Virginia Tech.
A: Thursday night game in fall with the leaves changing, golf in the early afternoon, tailgate with friends and family, head into Lane Stadium and watch VT dominate.

A: Friends, family, food and a cooler; what more do you need?
Q: What motivates you to give back to help Virginia Tech athletics?
A: Virginia Tech athletics have been a huge part of my life. I want to give back any way that I can.
Q: How are you involved with the local Richmond Hokie Club?
A: I have been a Hokie Representative since 2003 and have been the kickoff dinner chairman for the past two years and helped support all other Richmond Hokie Club events.
