So, this summer guaranteed that the fall will look and feel different. I participate in a lot more conversations about plexiglass partitions and piped in crowd noise, but I have arrived at a place of acceptance—that we face a challenge that we must take head on. And I remain committed to doing just that. Clearly, those around me at Tech are of the same mindset, and although we occasionally lack answers to all of your questions—and sometimes the answers we do have aren’t what anybody wants to hear—we continue to do our absolute best, both for our student- athletes, and of course, for you. In a world that suddenly offers very few guarantees, that is the absolute best that we can promise. I leave you with this. One thing has not changed for me—I feel very strongly that this season will be a memorable one when the Hokies return to the football field, and I can’t wait to bring it to you.
