T he Hokie Club has relaunched its Recent Grad Program . Recently revamped, the program for young alumni allows them to stay involved with Virginia Tech Athletics after graduation. Alumni who graduated within the past four years with a degree from Virginia Tech may join with a minimum $25 donation, and they will experience a variety of exclusive benefits. To help offset the financial cost of joining, each Recent Grad gift will receive full matching credit up to $2,749. New members to the Recent Grad Program are eligible for ticket-related benefits for the 2021 giving year (i.e. access to tickets prior to the public) through the membership gift to the Hokie Scholarship Fund. Supporting the Hokie Scholarship Fund, Recent Grad members are eligible to receive all the related benefits associated with their membership level. In addition, exclusive benefits for Recent Grad members include: • Matching gift credit that allows alumni to reach various membership benefit levels for half the price • Discounted football and basketball individual-game tickets based on availability, games TBD • Invitation to exclusive events and experiences • Free gift The Hokie Club helps to fund academic and athletics needs of more than 550 student-athletes, providing not only scholarships, but also support in areas of nutrition, academic services and tutoring, athletic training, and student-athlete development which helps to prepare Hokies for life after Virginia Tech. Additionally, increased philanthropic giving is one of the core university initiatives, with the goal of 22% of alumni giving by 2022, and a sustained $250 million in annual gifts and commitments by 2027. Engaging young alumni and allowing them to stay connected with Virginia Tech Athletics is an increasingly important aspect of reaching these goals. Current Recent Grads members looking to increase their priority point ranking should consider making a separate gift to the Keep Jumping Fund (facing page).
