24 Inside Hokie Sports “We have a number of executives in Hollywood that are interested in this, there’s nothing like this out right now,” Vandyke said. “I’m just prepping the treatment to shop it to the right person to help me tell the story.” Whether he’s building his fashion brand or inspiring a different culture, Vandyke embraces his many hats. Although he has a lot on his plate, Vandyke attributes his multitasking abilities to his time as a student-athlete in Blacksburg. “Everything that you want to get done, can get done with order, discipline and determination,” Vandyke said. “Playing major college football is no joke, but I think my time here at Tech taught me you can get all these things done with the right tenacity and the right scheduling and planning and, most of all, support.” Life as a Division I student-athlete is a challenging one as young people must balance their passion for the games they love with the schooling needed to succeed in the next phase of their lives. Although Kwamina Vandyke wishes his football career in Blacksburg turned out differently, the experiences he’s had beginning with his time at Virginia Tech has helped shape the life he leads today, one filled with many new passions.
