24 Inside Hokie Sports • The Hokies extended their streak of bowl appearances to 26 consecutive—the longest active streak in the nation and the third-longest bowl streak in college football history. • Tré Turner became a weapon for Tech as a freshman this past season, as his 20.6 yards per reception ranked third among FBS true freshmen in 2018. Turner caught 26 passes for 535 yards and four touchdowns on the season, with 16 of those catches coming in the final four games. • Rayshard Ashby ranked tied for second in the ACC in total tackles with 105 (57 solo) in 2018. Defensive lineman Ricky Walker and receiver Damon Hazelton earned second- team honors, while Oscar Bradburn was a third-team choice. Hazelton led Tech in receptions (51), yards (802) and touchdown receptions (8), while Walker led the team in tackles for a loss (10.5). Bradburn averaged 42.6 yards per punt. Ashby, tight end Dalton Keene, and offensive lineman Kyle Chung were honorable mention selections. • Ryan Willis’ 24 touchdown passes ranked fourth in the ACC and his 2,716 passing yards ranked fifth this past season even though he did not start the first three games of the season. Willis threw at least two touchdown passes in eight of his 10 starts.
