inside.hokiesports.com 25 • The Hokies’ best win came March 17 when they knocked off then-No. 13 Denver 15-14 in overtime. Sara Goodwin’s goal in overtime off a Taylor Caskey assist propelled Tech to the upset. • Tech played in eight games this past spring that were decided by three goals or less, and the Hokies went 2-6 in such games. • Paige Petty, Emma Crooks and Elena Ricci all earned All-ACC honors, with Petty, a midfielder, finding a spot on the first team and both Ricci, a defender, and Crooks, a midfielder, earning spots on the second team. • Petty became the first Tech player to earn first-team All-ACC honors twice. The sophomore from Bernardsville, New Jersey set a single-season record with 66 goals and now has 124 goals in her career. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Petty needs just 63 goals to become the program’s all-time leader in career goals. • In her first season as the starter, goalkeeper Morgan Berman ranked third in the ACC in saves per game at 7.89. Her 142 saves were tied for fourth in the league. • John Sung’s 33 wins in three seasons as the Hokies’ head coach are the most by any lacrosse coach after three seasons in program history. He needs just two wins to move ahead of Brooke Martin into second place among career victories at Tech. Megan Burker is the program’s leader with 46 victories.
