32 Inside Hokie Sports • Tech has won at least 15 matches in four of the past five seasons. • The Hokies’ singles lineup featured one senior this past season—Jason Kros. Standout Mitch Harper took a redshirt season because of an injury and returns next season as a fifth-year senior. • Five of the Hokies’ six singles regulars finished with a conference record of .500 or better this past season. • The highlight of the Hokies’ season came March 31 when they upset then-No. 16 Notre Dame 5-2 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. Tech won the doubles point and then picked up singles wins from Henrik Korsgaard, Alex Ribeiro, Brandon Perez and Evan Fragistas to pull off the victory. • Kros and Korsgaard led Tech with 13 wins each this season, with 12 of Kros’ wins coming out of the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Korsgaard paced the team with seven ACC wins, while Kros led the squad with wins over three ranked opponents. • Kros’ wins over ranked opponents came when he knocked of Duke’s Nick Stachowiak 6-2, 6-3; Georgia Tech’s Carlos Divar 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 6-0; and Miami’s Adria Soriano Barrera 6-4, 6-1. Stachowiak, Divar and Soriano Barrera were ranked Nos. 41, 30 and 36 nationally, respectively.
