inside.hokiesports.com 17 BASKETBALL OVERALL RECORD: 21-9 ACC RECORD: 11-7 (tied for fourth in ACC) SEASON HIGHLIGHTS • Tech established a new school record for ACC victories by beating Duke 70-56 in the final home game of the season. • Tech head coach Kenny Brooks now has guided teams to at least 20 victories in 15 consecutive seasons—the longest such active streak among ACC coaches. • The Hokies went 13-2 at home this past season. Their average margin of victory in those 13 victories was 20.5 points per game. • Aisha Sheppard scored her 1,000th career point in Tech’s regular-season finale. She earned first-team All-ACC honors as voted on by the league’s head coaches and second- team All-ACC honors by a blue ribbon panel that covers the league, averaging 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. She also set a school single-season record with 84 3-pointers. • Elizabeth Kitley made the All-ACC Freshman team after averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. She shot 56.2% from the floor, and she led the Hokies with 63 blocked shots. • Taja Cole earned a spot on the All-ACC Defensive Team after a season in which she averaged 1.45 steals per game. She averaged 9.7 points, 6.6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game, and her 191 total assists led the ACC.
