inside.hokiesports.com 21 soccer OVERALL RECORD: 12-5-2 CONFERENCE RECORD: 4-4-2 (tied for eighth in ACC) SEASON HIGHLIGHTS • For the second consecutive season and for the seventh time under head coach Chugger Adair, the Hokies received a bid to the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship. For the fifth time in program history, the Hokies opened the NCAA tournament with a first-round home match. • Mandy McGlynn became the third Tech women’s soccer player in program history to earn All-America honors and the first goalkeeper to do so. She was one of 10 ACC players to earn All-America recognition and the only goalkeeper. • McGlynn earned first-team All-ACC honors as well, and she played every minute in goal for the Hokies in 2019. Her save percentage of 83.5% and her goals allowed average of 0.772 per game were both the second-best in a single season at Tech. She finished her career with a school-record 32 shutouts, including 10 in 2019. • McGlynn became just the second player in Tech history to be selected in the National Women’s Soccer League Draft when Sky Blue FC chose her with the No. 20 overall pick. She was the only goalkeeper selected in the draft. • Kelsey Irwin, a defender, also earned All-ACC honors for Tech, securing a spot on the third team. She played a large role in Tech’s limiting of its opponents to just 192 shots this past season, and she also scored a career-high three goals. • The Hokies lose seven seniors, but return their top four scorers, including Nicole Kozlova, who led Tech with five goals.
