Inside HOKIE SPORTS | Vol. 12 No. 4 | March 2020
Supporting Tech Athletics Since 1949 2 Inside Hokie Sports Nahiem Alleyne and five other freshmen on the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team received their first experience at playing in an ACC Tournament when the Hokies took on North Carolina at the Greensboro Coliseum on March 10. The Hokies didn’t fare well, falling to North Carolina 78-56, but Tech won seven ACC games this season and finished three spots ahead of where it was picked in the league’s preseason poll. Tech loses senior Branden Johnson, but the rest of the roster is expected to return, and with the addition of two top-100 recruits—and perhaps other additions— the future appears to be bright for the program under head coach Mike Young.
