inside.hokiesports.com 39 in the road, particularly when D’Amour stopped practices to educate his players on great 1980s music artists such as Eddie Money, George Strait, Waylon Jennings and Huey Lewis. “When it comes to music, he’s really disappointed in us,” Lattin said, smiling. “We’re not cultured enough, I guess.” Before the cancellation of the season, Tech’s stock had taken off like Facebook’s initial public offering, courtesy of beating three ranked teams in an early-season tournament in Clearwater, Florida in mid-February. A year ago, the Hokies won the Coastal Division and were the ACC’s top seed at the league tournament. They ended a four-year hiatus from the NCAA Championships with their first regional appearance since 2015. In a couple of short months, Lattin’s time at Tech will come to an end. Her dad wants her to return to New York and help him run the family business, but she plans on taking an alternate route. An internship at a local bank in her hometown reaffirmed her desire to get into commercial banking, and yet she wants to stay in the Commonwealth to pursue that. She may wind up as a lender or credit analyst. She may get into some form of financial analysis. She’ll probably be an overwhelming success. Her track record at Tech would lead one to such a conclusion. After all, during her career, she certainly paid great dividends for the Hokies. Olivia Lattin plans on pursuing a career in finance once her time at Tech comes to an end.
