Q: The Hokie Nation is real because … A: The love and support we show for our fellow Hokies. Q: How did you become a fan of Virginia Tech? A: Mike Vick— he was like watching a video game back in the day! Q: My best memory of Virginia Tech Athletics is … A: I will always remember the Yankees coming down to play our baseball team after April 16— I was fortunate enough to be able to attend that game and see our team play the best of the best on and off the field in the New York Yankees. Q: Describe a perfect day in Blacksburg. A: Seventy-five and sunny, 3:30 p.m. kickoff, Center Street tailgate, with live music and 50 of my closest friends and family ready to march into the stadium to beat UVA … again. Q: Do you have any game-day superstitions or traditions? A: Turkey legs. You can’t do Virginia Tech football without enjoying a delicious turkey leg! Q: How did you get involved with the Hokie Club? A: I remember at my graduation someone gave me the great advice to begin donating the second you graduate, so when you make enough money to buy season tickets, you’re ahead of the game, and you’ll have a great selection to choose from. Q: What motivates you to give back to Virginia Tech Athletics? A: Throughout my life, I’ve made incredible memories with my family and friends attending Virginia Tech athletics events. While in school, I was fortunate enough to attend three BCS bowl games, and I am hopeful with our support that we can get Virginia Tech back to the top of the ACC and into the national spotlight soon. Q: My favorite Virginia Tech memory is … A: Last year, I was able to take my grandfather, brother (Jason MacCormack ’07 grad) and nephew Davis (future Hokie 2030) to the Duke vs. Virginia Tech game in Cassell Coliseum, where Davis and my grandfather got to see their first basketball game and an incredible ending with a Virginia Tech WIN! Q: My all-time favorite Virginia Tech football player is … A: Mike Vick—he changed the game for Virginia Tech Athletics. Q: My all-time favorite Virginia Tech athlete from another sport is … A: I’m going to branch out to a great leader we were fortunate to have at Virginia Tech. I love Buzz Williams and the positive energy he brought to our organization from the classroom to the athletics department! I’m excited to see the great program that Mike Young will build!
