inside.hokiesports.com 19 THE NEW CLUB Our men’s and women’s basketball teams have steadily continued to build over the past several seasons, making return trips to the NCAAs. With the increased popularity of the programs, a waiting list for Courtside at Cassell has created the need for more premium seating within the venue. This renovation will meet that need with an updated design that provides more options for our donors, including the addition of suites and a brand new club area. These added spaces will allow for many of the same amenities that our club seat and suite holders have become accustomed to in Lane Stadium. The brand new Concourse Club will provide a premium product unlike any other previously offered at Cassell Coliseum. This club area contains dedicated club seating, loge seating, a club lounge, and dedicated food and beverage concessions. The entire front of the club will be open to the main seating bowl, allowing for a direct connection to the event from any point in the club. Cassell Coliseum is unlike any other venue, and it is important we maintain what makes our arena one of the most unique facilities in the country while providing our dedicated fans with the amenities that make visiting Cassell an enjoyable and special experience. THE NEW BOWL Upon entering the arena of Cassell Coliseum, our visitors will be greeted with an eye-catching, updated, and modern look to the venue—one that still maintains the charm and atmosphere that Hokie Nation has come to love... and opponents have come to fear. The renovations will maintain Cassell’s intimacy while opening up the venue and adding premium seating areas. Visibility will be created between the bowl and concourses so that when fans leave their seats, they are still connected to the action. A new second-level concourse will provide convenient amenities for our fans sitting in the upper sidelines, lessening travel distance from the seats to concessions and restrooms. Above the student seating, a walkway will connect the new upper concourses. This will alleviate some foot traffic on the main level and create ease of travel around the coliseum.
