GETTING TO KNOW … STEVEN PEOPLES Q: What is your dream vacation? SP: Hawaii, for sure. The clear waters, the culture … it sounds interesting to me. It’s always a place I’ve wanted to go since elementary school and high school. Whenever people ask, ‘Where would you want to go?’ it’s always been Hawaii. I’ve never been, but I will be there one day. Q: What is your favorite place to eat? SP: I’m a big Mexican guy. I could eat chicken and rice and that cheese that they make all day, every day. I don’t really have a restaurant that is my favorite. As long as they have the chicken and rice and cheese, it’s all the same to me. Q: I’d love to trade places for a day with … SP: Josh Jackson or Ryan Willis. I’d want to be quarterback for a day and see what that’s like. I want to see how he lives in that life. Q: Who is your celebrity crush? SP: Selena Gomez. It was Taylor Swift growing up, but I had to switch over to Selena. Q: What is your favorite thing about being a Virginia Tech student-athlete? SP: I would say the atmosphere here. We have the best fans in the country. It’s amazing. You can go out to eat or something, and there will be a little kid, and it’ll be, ‘OMG, OMG, can I take a picture with you?’ It makes you feel really good, and I enjoy that. That’s the best part about it—just seeing how happy you make people. Southwest Virginia native Steven Peoples grew up a Virginia Tech fan and has enjoyed his career in Blacksburg.
