Inside HOKIE SPORTS | Vol. 13 No. 2 | October 2020
Supporting Tech Athletics Since 1949 To make a gift or for more information, visit hokieclub.com I Thank you to everyone who has made the decision to Keep Jumping! Your support will impact all of our HOKIES in 2020 and beyond, as we continue to provide for more than 550 student-athletes. I decided to keep jumping because now more than ever Hokie Nation is needed to step up (if you are able to do so) and live out Ut Prosim . I may not be an alumni of Virginia Tech, but I’m still a Hokie!! COVID has impacted everyone in some way, and for those of us who still can, we need to step up to the plate. Going to Hokie games is something that I love to do, and it’s something I look forward to every year. So if there is something I can do to play a role in helping things continue to move forward and live to fight another day, I feel obligated to do so. Fortunately, I was able to donate to the Keep Jumping campaign, and I cannot wait until the next time we are jumping for real back in Lane and Cassell. For those who have passed and for those to come, reach for excellence! LETS GO! HOKIES! TYLER AUSTIN I feel that I’m extremely fortunate in the current environment to have the financial security to contribute to the Keep Jumping Campaign. I get so much enjoyment with my children in watching our athletes compete for Virginia Tech and represent our university. I want to make sure they continue to have the opportunity to compete at the highest levels and pursue their educational studies for a career outside of athletics. While I greatly enjoy attending athletic events in person, I don’t feel that my incentive to support Virginia Tech should be transactional. I hope that my small contribution, when combined with others, will reduce the financial burden on both our Athletic Department and our student-athletes. Go Hokies! LUKE ITNYRE Virginia Tech (Class of ’01) I have always said it is great watching our student- athletes compete, and I have had opportunities to meet them off the field after their playing days are over. These men and women are doing amazing things and represent our school so well! If I can have a small part in providing an education for someone that may not otherwise be able to attend college, that warms my heart. This is another way for us older alumni to give back and live out Ut Prosim . SCOTT LUXTON Virginia Tech (Class of ’86)
