The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team so far has gotten
off to a perfect start to the 2016-17 season under new coach
Kenny Brooks, opening the campaign with 14 straight wins.
The Hokies, ranked No. 18 in the Jan. 3 Associated Press poll,
concluded non-conference play with a 13-0 record and then
opened ACC play with a 76-68 win over North Carolina. Three
players recorded double-doubles in the win, led by Regan
Magarity’s 24 points and 17 rebounds. The Hokies are off to
their second-best start in school history. The 1998-99 team
won its first 18 games.
