WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE YEAR TAYLOR EMERY (Sr.; Tampa, Florida) OVERALL RECORD: 22-12 • CONFERENCE RECORD: 6-10 (10th in ACC) • Head coach Kenny Brooks guided the Hokies to a third straight 20-win season, and he now has led his teams to at least 20 wins in 14 consecutive years dating back to his tenure at JMU. In addition, Brooks notched career win No. 400 this season. • The Hokies set school records for 3-pointers made in a game (16 vs. Longwood) and for a season (324) en route to a fourth consecutive WNIT appearance. • Regan Magarity, a second- team All-ACC choice averaged a double-double this season (14.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg), setting a school and ACC record with 435 rebounds. She graduated with 1,299 rebounds, which also stands as a school and ACC record. • Magarity became just the fifth Tech player ever to be drafted by a WNBA team when the Connecticut Sun selected her with the No. 33 overall selection. • Taylor Emery became the program’s first ever first-team All-ACC choice after a season in which she averaged 19 points per game and became the 27th player in program history to score 1,000 career points. She did so in 55 career games, making her the fastest to 1,000 in program history. • Dara Mabrey, who earned a spot on the ACC’s All- Freshman Team, set a Tech single-season record with 80 3-pointers.
